General Questions

Is Join-PDFs really free?

Yes! Our standard web processing tools are completely free with no hidden charges. We don't require registration, account creation, or watermarks on your processed files. We also offer a premium tier for automated batch processing operations.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required for standard tools. You can use our primary tools immediately without signing up. We don't collect personal information or require any tracking registrations.

What browsers are supported?

Join-PDFs works on all modern web engines including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. For optimal hardware-accelerated processing speeds, keep your browser updated.

Is there a file size limit?

Because our upgraded framework processes files locally using your computer's own processing hardware, standard tools can now comfortably handle heavy documents up to 50MB+ smoothly! For massive premium operations up to 50 files simultaneously, check out our Batch tool section.

Security & Privacy

How long are my files kept?

They aren't stored at all! Thanks to our modern cloud layout, processing runs completely inside your browser's local memory. Your documents are never uploaded across the internet to a remote server, offering perfect, immediate security.

Are my files secure?

Yes, your privacy is absolute:

  • All processing executes locally in memory on your own device
  • Files are never transmitted to or cached on remote servers
  • Zero third-party access to any document data arrays
  • No cloud analytics monitoring your file content layers
Who can access my files?

Only you! Since data manipulation occurs entirely on your device's web environment, no network admins, web servers, or third parties can ever inspect, access, or intercept your documents.

Do you store any personal information?

We only monitor minimal, completely anonymous usage trends to verify system stability. We do not track IP addresses, capture location profiles, or retain any identifying operational metrics.

Tool-Specific Questions

What PDF tools are available?

We currently offer three main core utilities directly on our main interface:

  • Merge PDF - Combine multiple PDFs into one document instantly
  • Split PDF - Split PDFs by page ranges or extract individual pages
  • Compress PDF - Reduce PDF file size while maintaining high readability
We also feature image optimization modules, an interactive canvas logo maker, and serverless media demuxing utilities.
How do I merge PDF files?

To merge PDFs:

  1. Go to the Merge PDF section from our homepage tool grid
  2. Upload or drop your PDF files
  3. Arrange them into your customized processing sequence
  4. Click "Merge PDFs"
  5. Download the merged file buffer instantly to your hard drive
You can drag and drop multiple files at once or browse files locally.
How do I split a PDF?

To split a PDF:

  1. Go to the Split PDF tool view
  2. Upload your PDF file buffer
  3. Choose your split configuration rules (custom page ranges or extraction slices)
  4. Select the distinct page thumbnails you want to extract
  5. Click "Split PDF"
  6. Download the processed results safely compiled as a ZIP file archive
How does PDF compression work?

Our client-side compression script optimizes file size by:

  • Downsampling layout images safely based on your custom slider threshold
  • Stripping redundant document tracking metadata and unused layer strings
  • Compressing core page fonts and structural text layouts natively
This process maintains high document rendering resolution while dropping massive unnecessary payload weight.

Technical Questions

What PDF versions are supported?

We support all modern PDF specifications from version 1.4 through 2.0. This handles nearly all files created by modern text processors, scanning equipment, and layout editors. If an archive fails to compile, re-saving it inside any generic viewer will usually reset its structural blocks for parsing.

Why is my file failing to process?

Common local pipeline bottlenecks:

  • The file buffer is completely corrupt or unreadable
  • The target document is not a valid PDF layout
  • Aggressive browser ad-blockers or security sandboxes are restricting script canvas allocations
  • The file array structure requires premium access permissions
Try clearing cache parameters, testing a different web browser engine, or reviewing your document health integrity.
Why is file generation taking a long time?

Processing durations are directly dependent on your local system specs (CPU and available browser memory allocation thresholds). Because compilation happens right on your device, simpler documents will finish in milliseconds, while massive files with complex graphical assets can scale up processing time based on your computer's execution hardware speed capabilities.

Can I process password-protected PDFs?

Currently, password-encrypted documents cannot be decoded without prior user decryption authorization. You will need to remove the authentication layer via security utilities before importing the file into our browser processing dashboard arrays.
